Kova Goalie neck guard is very protective and comfortable. Constructed of dual density foams and plastic inserts, it's one of the most rigid models on the market. Used by many professionals around the World.
Additional gel foam protection uses a gel foam in stead of a more traditional foam inside the neck protector. It doesn't look any different from the outside. It's just a little bit heavier and more protective.

I’m dead serious when I say this is my favorite piece of gear. The build quality is just so far above any other brand, and the protection is amazing. I was not having a great time with other neck guards, I felt like they were choking me. Gave this one a shot and could not be happier.
The quality is incredible. Elastic has held up perfectly for almost 2 years now, and I’m skating with it almost daily. Hasn’t lost any elasticity. The velcro is still perfect, and the leather tab at the end is a nice touch. This is also one of the few pieces of gear I have that doesn’t smell horrible, it really doesn’t soak up sweat as much as I thought it would.
The protection is just unmatched. I went for the extra gel in it, and I have yet to take a shot off of it that has hurt me. I’ve eaten one timers clean to the throat in practice and was perfectly fine. The extra width is great for collar bone protection.
This is seriously the best neck guard on the market, it’s well worth the money.
